    I was going to say oil pan gasket, because the oil pan needs to be lowered to get that rear engine cover off. But then I saw that you had the oil pump replaced about 10-15k miles ago. You may be able to re-use that oil pan gasket, but I personally wouldn't because they are not very expensive...

    GMT800 SUV's were sold up until 2003 with the barn doors as an option, OR the lift gate. I've heard some people mention that they have seen it on a few 2004 models, but as far as I know it stopped in 2003, and all 04-06 models came with liftgates.

    The absolute best Bug and Tar remover that I have ever used is a product made by Stoner. It's called Stoner Tarminator bug and tar remover. I sometimes find it at Advanced Auto Parts and O'Reilly Auto Parts, but you can order it from Amazon and several derailing websites as well such as Autogeek.
