Yep, no arguments out of me here. I confirmed prior to work starting with my body shop that nothing would be reported to Carfax so at least that part isn't a concern.
I had a few defects I wanted addressed (outline of airbag/wrinkle in dash leather, tear in liftgate seal, defect in rear passenger door vent window tint). Skipped the first issue as I didn't want them tearing out my dash but for the window fix, the auto glass company that the dealer uses...
I took my '23 Tahoe z71 in to my local dealer for some warranty fixes at about 300 miles; 10k in damages later I got it back. Had to take it to a body shop and was out of service for 3+ months and still isn't 100% perfect.
For bucket seats (2nd row), here's what I use:
I use these and they work/look great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XPXDCY1?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_7&th=1
If you need rear seat protectors (with kids kicking the backs of your seats) try these...
For those of you advising on changing oil at 50% of OLM, is this mileage based or time based? I had an oil change at 1 year because my OLM said I was at 0% yet my mileage was only 2,697. Asked another way, is time a concern with oil quality or is it mileage that dilutes it over time?
Hot take: don't protect/extend your engine with the 0w-40 and keep running the original for as long as possible. If you have an affected unit, wouldn't you want to get it to failure as fast as possible within the recall period and/or warranty instead of band-aid it with the 0w-40 and miss your...
Really sorry to hear about everyone's misfortune with the 6.2L; I had a deposit at two dealers for one of these but GM never honored the build and I got my money back. Picked up a new '23 Tahoe with the 5.3L and still wondering if there's much concern about these engines with the 0W-20 and DFM...
Appreciate the thoughts folks...will grab a blower and look into a foam cannon. Any strong pros/cons for a hose attached cannon vs a pressure washer one?
Good tips and love the idea of a leaf blower; sounds like i still need to wash and scrub the dirt in every little nook and cranny before drying tho. Is a wash mitt my best bet or have others used some type of non-abrasive brush to make it faster/easier?
Any shortcuts or advice on keeping this thing clean (2023 Tahoe Z71)? Very tedious to get every little hole and water spot...any tips on products or techniques is very much appreciated!
Anybody else see this on the overhead lights near the buttons for sunroof/garage door opener? Don't even need to start car; just open car door then shut it and wait for the lights to fade out...they don't fade they almost flicker as they dim.
@WalleyeMikeIII appreciate the context on why no OTA at this time.
@apex944 details on the updates are in the App if you check your vehicle status. Looks like one is for the Serial Data Gateway (as Walleye shared above) and another is for Failed Brake Fluid Leak Detection.
I would suspect...
Got an email from Chevy this morning advising my Tahoe is due for an update and I need to bring it into the dealer to do this. Two q's:
1. I assumed this'd get pushed remotely and I can do it anywhere...why do I need to go to the dealer for this?
2. Anybody know what's in this update?
Thanks...
