    When my u-joints went they squeaked, but it varied with speed. Yours is a stumper. I would think if it were anything in the drivetrain it would vary with either speed or rpm.

    Pops code when accelerating

    Just shooting from the hip with no info, a code under load to me could be pinging/knocking. Could be a sensor going bad and picking up false knock. Could be a million other things. Pinging can definately be caused by bad gas so either way I'd get this checked out immediately.

    I bought my 04 in 06 with 65k on it. When I got rid of it last year it had 225k. I got my Denali 2 years ago with 99k and today she's running with 165k. You treat em right they'll un forever.

    If you stay with the gasser I'd say the Suburban 2500 is the way to go. I have a Denali XL and wouldn't even think of towing a trailer like that with it. According to the manual it's towing capacity is lower as well. I don't know if that's due to the AWD or the fact that it's a luxury SUV built...

    Piston slap is common in these things. Mine has been doing it for the better part of 60k miles. Usually goes away by the time the trucks up to temp.

    Crew cab Duramax dude. Pull your trailer and still get half decent mileage. My buddy had a 6.0 suburban and pulled his 32' trailer with it and got 10 mpg at best. With his duramax he just got he's getting closer to 15 on average.
