Installing "2021 PPV" style 6-Piston Brembo Front Brakes on a 2007 Yukon Denali

The correct thread size is 10MMx1 for the 2022 PPV calipers. 3/8-24 is the metric equivalent of the about 9.525x1.058. It will still fit because the diameter is smaller and the pitch is close, but it will gall the aluminum threads on the caliper under proper tightening torque. Some the bolt...

TCC line pressure (vs load) causes TCC slip

I am certain that the 2020 dual clutch is stronger (high torque holding) is a much better choice for towing. It should also work better at the same line pressure vs a single. It seems that the factory clutch material has the highest coefficient of friction in the 2% or less slip range. The...

If it runs better with the AFM delete tune, then definitely use that one. I possibly has additional tuning for the trans.

TCC line pressure (vs load) causes TCC slip

I discovered this on my 2011 Yukon 6L80 awhile back and forgot to share it. This is primarily TCC engaged in 5th gear (or possibly 6th) in the sub 2000 rpm range, with desired TCC slip of '0' (programmed not stock). At low load, the TCC line pressure has a lower threshold, effectively the...

    RPM Fluctuation

That is classic TCC slip. The Sonnax TCC valve will help, but I think the bigger part of the problem is the actual software logic around the way the pressure on the TCC is estimated and applied. Without going to a different converter, I think the best pseudo-fix is to increase the offset...

2014 Yukon XL Denali - Pre-Purchase Inspection (AWD System)

Definitely recommend replacing all the fluids. The flywheel looks pretty dry to me. The inspection hole is wet because oil leaks drip down the outside of the bell housing to that low spot. Either from the oil cooler gasket or the oil pressure switch or both.

2014 Yukon XL Denali - Pre-Purchase Inspection (AWD System)

I agree with @wjburken, they are making a note that it is AWD, because it adds to the complexity of replacing the main bearings. I suspect the oil pressure is low enough (possibly a bad pressure sensor), or maybe a failing pickup o-ring, that they would think it needs new bearings. I think it...

time to break up with denial…guess who. 6L80!!!

Checkballs! Make sure you are searching for a set of checkballs on the internet! Just wanted to clarify that... :) The Sonnax zip kit includes 8 checkballs (.25") so you should be good to go. https://www.sonnax.com/parts/3505-zip-kit

    Summitt Racing - Torque Converter

I have the CVC BU60FHD based on a recommendation by @Geotrash. Summit also has the flanged version for a few extra dollars, so I recommend that one. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ccv-tqbu60fhd I don't think you can find a billet cover rebuild with a warranty for less. The downside is that...

First year ownership and 5K miles 2011 Yukon Denali

Looks like Storm Gray, code WA707S. As @Geotrash said, it is beautiful. Definitely the best color for 2011 year. It looks very close to Thunder Gray, which is my favorite GM color.

The stock rockers are amazing... lightweight and very strong. Yes, the trunnion upgrade is probably not needed, but I figured it was a good idea to replace the bearings. I had these already on the shelf and wanted to use the CHE bronze bearings for my CTS-V instead of the Brian Tooley rollers...

First year ownership and 5K miles 2011 Yukon Denali

That is very true. I think the increased reliability can breed a lack of concern for maintenance. I also feel like some of these computerized maintenance minders imply that 8,000 miles is ok for oil change and maybe some will just think the yellow/orange light is more like a suggestion. It...

Installing "2021 PPV" style 6-Piston Brembo Front Brakes on a 2007 Yukon Denali

The fluid displacement volume is slightly lower for the PPV calipers vs stock GMT900, so going to a larger master cylinder would have a negative effect. Which is why this upgrade is so ideal because you don't need to change the master, or compromise with longer pedal movement

First year ownership and 5K miles 2011 Yukon Denali

I deactivated AFM in the computer and I inserted a blocking ring into the manifold to block oil pressure to the solenoids. The window sticker showed this was sold through a local dealer. It was also sold as CPO around 100K miles, so it was clearly well maintained and the CPO purchase included...

So a little backstory.... My friend is looking for a used truck to replace his tired 2003 Ford F150 with something safer, but not too new that he is afraid for his 15 year old to drive it to school. Late 2022, he brings me a 2013 Silverado from the Northeast. Aside from the rust, I am pretty...
