I totally get not trusting non-OEM injectors! I just couldn't bring myself to pay $800-$1K to replace them.
No, the rich condition happened sometime after the new injectors.
That is a great question. And, honestly I have no idea.
Here is the link to the Amazon Injectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09QKR1BC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=tahoeyukonforum-20
However, I wouldn't recommend them. I had to purchase two sets, as the first set...
The spark plugs & wires were AC Delco.
The injectors and coils were aftermarket. As the truck is 24 years old, I didn't want to spend the X10 price for those. However, this could be causing the problem. The diagnostics the master mechanic ran didn't show any issues though. Great question! Thanks.
Thank you, Mudsport! Great questions!
No codes - except for the P0172 (and rarely the P0172). No "missing" codes, which I find odd. But, the master mechanic I took it to said that the "missing" isn't enough for it to trigger the code.
I didn't gap the plugs - they were pre-gapped. However, I...
Brief History:
This has been going on for years now. I made a post in 2021 and that helped solve some of the problems I was having! But now I've narrowed down a specific, reoccurring issue: fouling plugs
Reoccurring Issue:
About twice a month I'll get a P0172 — System Too Rich Bank 1.
Rarely...
My mechanic recommended I get a "tuner" to fix the weird shifting I'm getting in my 2000 Tahoe. I'm looking for advice on which device, and how to make the settings I need.
Issue Details:
I had my automatic transmission rebuilt about 6 months ago. It works great 80% of the time. Sometimes it...
I had this issue as well. I replaced the original cap with a new one from Advanced Auto Parts ($16) and it went away.
Later, I cleaned the old cap with a degreaser, soaked it in hot water, and replaced the new cap with the old one to test it out. The upper hose collapsed again while cooling. :/...
I've had some issues with random overheating in my 2000 Tahoe.
You can see the troubleshooting below, but it seems pretty clear, that the coolant is being blocked.
I've flushed the radiator multiple time, and I'm still getting rusty, coolant water, with little, tiny brown bits coming out of...
Thanks, Mudsport96. Sorry for the slow response, I assumed I would get an email notification, once someone replied. I'll try and get back under there in the next few weeks. Thanks again!
I was finally able to get under there and feel for it. I wasn't able to push it in at all. It just wouldn't budge by hand. Perhaps I could have use some leverage, but I am assuming just trying to move it by hand was the appropriate test. What does that tell us?
It's a bit hard to tell from this attached pic. (The blacker areas are from the black fan shroud behind it - the fluid makes the thin paper towel kind of transparent. So, it looks better in "real life".)
I'd say it's reddish with a hint of brown in real life. It looked darker before I added the...
