Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

I totally get not trusting non-OEM injectors! I just couldn't bring myself to pay $800-$1K to replace them. No, the rich condition happened sometime after the new injectors.

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

That is a great question. And, honestly I have no idea. Here is the link to the Amazon Injectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09QKR1BC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=tahoeyukonforum-20 However, I wouldn't recommend them. I had to purchase two sets, as the first set...

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

No oil consumption at all. (yeah!) Also, the oil looks completely normal for the milage - a nice golden brown.

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

The spark plugs & wires were AC Delco. The injectors and coils were aftermarket. As the truck is 24 years old, I didn't want to spend the X10 price for those. However, this could be causing the problem. The diagnostics the master mechanic ran didn't show any issues though. Great question! Thanks.

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

Thank you, Mudsport! Great questions! No codes - except for the P0172 (and rarely the P0172). No "missing" codes, which I find odd. But, the master mechanic I took it to said that the "missing" isn't enough for it to trigger the code. I didn't gap the plugs - they were pre-gapped. However, I...

Only some basic condensation on cold morning startups. Never while driving.

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

Brief History: This has been going on for years now. I made a post in 2021 and that helped solve some of the problems I was having! But now I've narrowed down a specific, reoccurring issue: fouling plugs Reoccurring Issue: About twice a month I'll get a P0172 — System Too Rich Bank 1. Rarely...

This makes a lot of sense and is very helpful! Thank you!

Tuner to fix shifting in 2000 Tahoe (auto transmission)

My mechanic recommended I get a "tuner" to fix the weird shifting I'm getting in my 2000 Tahoe. I'm looking for advice on which device, and how to make the settings I need. Issue Details: I had my automatic transmission rebuilt about 6 months ago. It works great 80% of the time. Sometimes it...

New upper radiator hose collapsed ?

I had this issue as well. I replaced the original cap with a new one from Advanced Auto Parts ($16) and it went away. Later, I cleaned the old cap with a degreaser, soaked it in hot water, and replaced the new cap with the old one to test it out. The upper hose collapsed again while cooling. :/...

WTH is this weird, plastic thimble in Radiator Reservoir Hose?!

I've had some issues with random overheating in my 2000 Tahoe. You can see the troubleshooting below, but it seems pretty clear, that the coolant is being blocked. I've flushed the radiator multiple time, and I'm still getting rusty, coolant water, with little, tiny brown bits coming out of...

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

Thanks, Mudsport96. Sorry for the slow response, I assumed I would get an email notification, once someone replied. I'll try and get back under there in the next few weeks. Thanks again!

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

I was finally able to get under there and feel for it. I wasn't able to push it in at all. It just wouldn't budge by hand. Perhaps I could have use some leverage, but I am assuming just trying to move it by hand was the appropriate test. What does that tell us?

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

It's a bit hard to tell from this attached pic. (The blacker areas are from the black fan shroud behind it - the fluid makes the thin paper towel kind of transparent. So, it looks better in "real life".) I'd say it's reddish with a hint of brown in real life. It looked darker before I added the...

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

Hello All, I'll definitely look into all of the items stated above. In the meantime, I found the original invoice for the transmission rebuild... I can't make out most of the chicken scratches, so I attached a couple of images. Any insight you can give on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, it does have Traction Control.

2000 Tahoe - Idle Issues with A/C vibrations

Yes, I was wondering about the Spark Plugs being fouled by the leaky valve cover gasket. It just doesn't seem like it would leak that direction. I just don't know what else could have fouled them out though. (To be clear, they had oil around the treads, but nowhere else. Is this normal?) I...

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

Yes, that is correct. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. It's only in this last year that I've had the time to really get into all this. Also, we only put about 5-10K miles on this vehicle a year. I didn't expect to have to mess with it until the 60K transmission fluid replacement...

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

I didn't flush or replace the filter, as the transmission fluid looked ok, and was replaced with the transmission about 30-40k ago. I pulled some of the old transmission fluid out, just to make room for the Lucas Fluid, with a fluid transfer pump (Harbor Freight) - out from the dipstick shaft...

Automatic Transmission - slight surge from 1st to 2nd

2000 LT 5.3L V8 2WD Tahoe, automatic with 200,000 +/- miles. History: Automatic transmission was completely rebuilt about 6 years ago. About a year ago, the transmission started slipping with some hard shifts. The transmission fluid looked normal (for the age). I removed some transmission...

2000 Tahoe - Idle Issues with A/C vibrations

I just clocked 199,199 miles last night! I'll swing back by the MAF, but it looked pristine. I've had multiple mechanics say it looks like a 40,000 mile vehicle, so I can't complain! If it's not overkill, I could run more Techron through it. I put some in about every 6-12 months or so. Thanks...

2000 Tahoe - Idle Issues with A/C vibrations

You are right that it should be drive by cable, and not by wire. However, I've looked over multiple photos and diagrams of what I should have, and what I do have, and it appears to be drive by wire. I'm not sure why, maybe the original owners got an upgrade! Attached is a photo of what I have...

Thanks for the greeting, Joseph! I didn't think of the compressor or belt tensioner - that makes sense! I'll check this out.

2000 Tahoe - Idle Issues with A/C vibrations

2000 LT 5.3L V8 2WD Tahoe, automatic running rough with A/C on. Fixed: Items replaced/cleaned so far: • Spark Plugs (new) • Spark Plug Wires (new) • Coils (all 8, new) • Valve Cover Gaskets (it was fouling the spark plugs) • Cleaned Throttle Body • Cleaned Mass Air Flow Sensor • Cleaned...
