    $1500 stupidness

Having my 07 Yukon rear bumper repainted currently. It was lightly bumped, a few light scrapes...$600 to remove and repaint at a reputable shop. I opted to reuse the black step cover. Overall the truck is in very good condition; I bought new. I've already purchased a new one but wanted to...

    P0449 & P0455

Makes sense. I have ramps. Thanks for the post. Lots of useful info here.

    P0449 & P0455

Alrighty, thanks. I will give it a try. I don't have a lift (but have a friend who does)...either way, looks fairly DIY, even if laying on the ground. Great thing about the Yukons, and 4WD, lots of room underneath.

    P0449 & P0455

What was the verdict? I have P0449 code. I cleared it once and it came back within 10 minutes of driving. The original gas cap does not seem to fit as snugly anymore. But this code means an electronic issue, or so I thought.

Liftgate exterior window switch replacement - I'm stuck!

I see this is an old thread but it is relevant...this thread is spot-on. I ordered the AC Delco part from Amazon ($11) and removed/installed in about five minutes, and that includes getting my few tools/stool together. Thanks all.

    Clay Bar Question

So I have to ask you your opinion of the 'synthetic' clay bars. I have used one with detailing spray as the lubricant. I must say that to the touch, even using a plastic bag over your fingers, it seems to do much the same as the clay bar.

Help, is this suppose to have a backlight?

I see this is an old thread but did not find another one similar. My 07 Yukon seems to have similar issue...no backlighting on the headlamp/dome switch OR the transfer case selector. Bulb burned? But seems like the bulb is an integral part of the switch. Practically seems if I want the...

    Engine/Motor Mount Trouble

2007 Yukon SLT purchased new. Replaced the driver side engine mount a couple of months ago at about 115,000 miles. Yep, about $500. I do not tow anything to speak of, don't off-road it and don't believe I have a particularly heavy foot. Seems like it's just a wear item. It was replaced with...

Just bought an ‘18 Yukon Denali

I have the 17 Denali (and kept my 07 SLT). It's all loaded up like you describe...nice. Keep it in 2WD. Do some reading, google search. The auto mode presents some additional stress on the transfer case if I recall correctly. It sounds nice as sort of an AWD mode but I don't believe that is...

    Wireless charging mod?

Maybe not on topic but I have 2017 Denali and Samsung GS 8+ with a thin cover. I did do the mod to 'flip' the charging mat. The GS8+ with my covers seems to rest just on the edges of the mat. Very slight, maybe 1/16" off the surface. It charges fine every time. My wife's GS8 fits fine...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Old thread I see but I'll chime in. The 2017 Denali is available in the part-time 4wd setup...2H, 4H and 4L. I have it. In the 07 redesign the Denali was AWD. That was the reason I went with the SLT at the time; I did not want FT 4WD or AWD. Gotta say I love the 2017 Denali. I kept the 07...

FS: Escalade 22" wheels and tires

When I sold the HRE wheels and tires off my Corvette I got in a little bit of a time-crunch. It was a different price-point also (I sold them for $7,000). In the end I took them to the UPS store (FedEX near me would not pack them). Did I overpay some, no doubt. But total to pack and ship...

Would you buy your Yukon/Tahoe again?

Yes...with the 6.2 you can hear it AND I like it. I'm still babying mine...less than 200 miles. Haven't had a chance to drive it much since I got it. Or drove the old one for one reason or another. Or drove the other car...first world problems baby.

Would you buy your Yukon/Tahoe again?

Oh, I know they get the hp and torque up there. Friend has the new F150 and says the V6 tt is amazing. I'm just being old and stubborn I guess...no replacement for displacement or something like that. I know the turbos are nothing like 20-30 years ago; virtually no lag and metallurgy and...

    6.2 V8 versus twin-turbo? Isn't Expedition fitted with twin-turbo V6?
