Z55 front suspension question
I have a 2005 Yukon XL Denali with the Z55 Autoride and just had the entire suspension front and back + compressor replaced. I am in Seattle area as well and had Les Schwab do the work. Looking for a 2000-2014/New member looking for a Tahoe/Yukon and some good advice for towing!
I was in a similar position as you a year ago. Trying to decide on a tow vehicle for a Jayco X17 (GVWR 3500 lbs). Congrats! I have a 2005 Yukon XL Denali that I purchased used at around 150k miles. It did have the transmission rebuilt just before I got it. So I would just plan on that and set aside some $$. This is very typical and one of the weak points of these rigs. Also, just replaced the z55...- Denali_XL

At what mileage should I considering trading in my Tahoe??
At 223k miles your odds of a rebuilt transmission in the very near future are pretty high. Has the suspension ever been replaced? If it's Autoride, you'd be looking at about $7-$8k just for those 2 repairs. Still cheaper than a brand new Tahoe + the yearly hit in depreciation.- Denali_XL

Any tips for better mpg
I have an 05' Yukon XL Denali and I believe all Denali's (2001 - 2006) have AWD as standard. That and the larger 6.0L engine were the main differences.- Denali_XL

Buy a Tesla? J/k! I understand. I have a 2005 Yukon XL Denali. It's a big, heavy rig with a powerful 6.0L and it's AWD. And it's 15 yrs old! You just have to accept you won't get good gas mileage. 13.2 MPG mixed is exactly what the EPA lists for estimates...- Denali_XL

Likely a bad oil pressure sensor. Pretty common issue with these as well as bad gauge clusters.- Denali_XL

$9500 for the Denali is a bit steep (I'm located in PNW as well). Doesn't hurt to go test drive it though. Can always offer less with cash in hand.
