    my esky console

I thought about that as well. I tend to keep my primary vehicles around 8-10 years at a time. I figure I can always add or change when the time comes. I have noticed this charges my phone MUCH fast then just a normal USB adapter. Please clarify who you were asking about the pocket. Thanks. It...

    my esky console

Are you talking to me or the OP? This is my build on the service truck. http://www.gmc4x4.com/topic/1731-the-new-service-truck/ Check it out. I built panels to cover all the holes, and I am having it wrapped in vinyl. This way the whole thing will have a much nicer feel to it.

It is rather interesting isn't it. I heard he just put the 94 K1500 to pasture. My 94 is going there as well.

Never really went anywhere. Just haven't had time to mess with anything.

    my esky console

I ended up making my own out of white pine. I am going to end up lining it with vinyl just to prevent rattles.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Any interest in building another one of those pockets?

If you get on performancetrucks.net and ask for tuner advice on your particular truck, you will get plenty of responses of who and why. You will likely find someone near you that could possibly tune your truck in person, that would be the best route.

    Fuel efficiency improvements

You can always do what I did and try to do some horse trading for parts. Realistically, change out the muffler for something that flows better. Cold air intake would be beneficial. Electric cooling fans are worth while in my experience. As far as the chip or programmer, I wouldn't buy a...

That is a factor as well. There are websites devoted to see how much mileage they can get out of a vehicle. You wouldn't believe the stuff they recommend.

    Fuel efficiency improvements

Without riding in your truck or watching you drive there is little I can offer you past what I have already mentioned. My 97 Tahoe was a 4 dr 4x4 with 3.42's. It was 100% bone stock. It was in good tune up. Washed and waxed weekly. 16 city/ 19 hwy was no issue. Things to consider are...

    Fuel efficiency improvements

Usually when someone tells me there is no way a vehicle can get good mileage, I conclude 1 of 2 things, either they know nothing about cars, or they have no clue how to drive. I am sure you have many friends with these, but I have personally owned MANY of these. My 94 454 suburban with 4.11's...

    Fuel efficiency improvements

Really, wow, you think so. I know a bunch of people getting 17-18 MPG from 5.7 denali's and escalades. 100K is nothing on that motor either, won't effect the mileage at all. I have a buddy with one that has 200K+ on his 99 escalade, and he routinely gets 18-19MPG out of his. They actually parked...

    Fuel efficiency improvements

My 97 Tahoe 4 door 4x4 with 3.42's got 19MPG HWY, we got 16 MPG pulling a trailer with a 93 Dodge Caravan home from Virginia. I have had many MANY GM trucks, and aside from a 03 5.3L/4L80E/4.11 Yukon XL, I have never had an issue getting excellent mileage out of them. I average 16MPG out of...

    Convert 95 yukon 4wd to a 2wd

The easiest way to do this. Remove the T-case, front drive shaft, and front chunk. Pull out the front half shafts, and remove the outer stub from the rest of the half shaft. Then put the outer stubs back in place to hold the wheel hub assembly to the spindle. Install the 2wd trans into the...
