    Posting this here, anybody have issues with broken bolts on the water pump pulley? Would not like to waste money on a welder since I dont have a use for that, any other alternatives welcomed. Thanks. Thread

    What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

    Swapped the water pump and belt tensioner last night, but ran into an issue. Snapped 2 bolts on the pump, anybody have any recommendations on to how to remove them? It's a 10mm bolt from the water pump pulley, I'd say about 1/2 inch in width?

The material is like cotton or paper, would anyone recommend changing the gasket to a metal one? I wanted to use the old one but it was warped. Would it be a bad idea to drive this thing...

    Well, the parts were swapped, but 2 bolts snapped while replacing the water pump pulley. The old one had a bit of play, and the new one does not although its missing two bolts, the play is less than before. Any tips on how to remove broken bolts from the engine block?     Parts finally arrived today, the tensioner and water pump pulley will be replaced. Hopefully this will clear up the intermittent noise at start up. It hasn't made the noise, I guess only when its humid and chilly in the mornings.

    Will definitely buy one now. It seems like there’s something wrong every day now. Anyways, it’s cheaper to repair than to buy a new vehicle (in this case).

    Yes, I contacted McGard directly and sent them pictures of the lock and key. The customer service rep then sent me a link to the product and bought it. Total was ~$13 shipped.

    I am using valvoline R&P since my truck has 104k miles. I have tried Rotella T6 Multi vehicle 5w-30, regular pennzoil, Amsoil OE series. I couldn't really tell a difference between the 4 brands, but do some more research on which additives the brands use and which ones you need, and pick from there.
