There appears to be some side post failure issues with the Sears/Odyssey batteries... this may be a concern for our GM trucks.

thank you for all the responses... I think I am going to go this route with the box however, I am having a hard time finding a suitable set of 10 inch subs to install in the box considering it's very shallow depth of 4.5 inches.

Does anyone have a set up similar to these in their OBS? I am interested in this sub box as cargo space is at a premium for me since I do quite a lot of outdoor activities and more often than not have a lot of gear to carry with.

Are you sure the 99 and 97 4wd trucks are the same size rotors?

VERY TRUE... not all subs thrown into just any box will sound the same.
Most sub manufacturers will give a range of box volumes that will work reasonably well but some companies will go further and give you an "ideal" volume which hypothetically speaking may allow the woofer to perform at...
Yeah... first is to check all your grounds. Make sure they are free of any corrosion and check that they have good contact. Metal to Metal.
You will want to make sure you have the "Big Three" updated.

I thought that in our OBS trucks, the vacuum line only went to 2 out of the 8 cylinders, thus making the seafoam pointless through the vacuum.
It's been recommended that the only way to fully treat our OBS is through the gas tank.
Can someone chime in to confirm this?
I have a 97 tahoe, and I am currently working on installing a set of speakers up front as well. What I have found is that more than likely you will need to build a mounting plate or baffle for your 6.5 driver as the mounting depth for most aftermarket speakers will be too deep for the glass...
