Thank you all for your input, I got the new struts and put them in. The hatch/end gate is now back to working like it should! Consider this thread done, stick a fork in it! Thanks again!
I removed the struts last night, one moved freely when compressed, the other one wouldn't budge. I have new ones on the way. Damn torx bolts! 1 stripped the head, (not hardened worth a damn) I barely got it out. Stealership wants almost $7.00 each! In the mean time I'll check the thread pitch...
I don't know how I could have been much clearer. When I physically assist while the door is trying to open, I force it into the open position. Once it's fully open it closes unprompted. Is there an encoder on the motor that could be out of sync? The liftgate takes force to open, it's as if it's...
My rear hatch unlatches and starts to open. It opens about 16" or so, then it closes on its own. I tried forcing it the rest of the way, but when I do that it still closes on its own. I've shut it off and turned it back on, used the clicker and switch in the truck, same result. Where do I go...
Error code check
I stopped tonight and got my code checked, it said high voltage something, bottom line I asked if it meant that my oil pressure sensor was toast, he said yup. So I have the new switch and I'll be putting it in and looking for that pesky screen! Thanks for the suggestions!
Same issue?
I have an 09 Yukon XL\SLT with a 5.3L and I have a 0 reading on my gauge and service engine soon indicator on. Oil level good, under 1k miles since oil change (@ GM dealership, asked for delco filter) I have no engine noise nothing telling me to shut the engine down. I'm suspecting...
"Older" engines had a verticle oil filter. The newer ones have a horizontal filter so it's impossible to change the oil filter without making a mess. Crawl under it with some rags and clean it off, then check after you drive it for a bit.
I found the problem! When they changed over to the 6 speed trans they also changed the way FWD works. No more stump puller starts unless you drop the hammer. :favorites68:
Hi
It used to be there were manufacturers of hubs made in America. I only know of 1 survivor and he's in *******, MI. The rest are made in China...imagine that! And don't last. At one time you could count on 100k from a hub, today? It may sound corny, but they don't make em like they used to!
