yeah man, i've really been flirting with the idea of getting a nnbs (07+) ex cop tahoe. they can be had for $10k or less, and if you do your research, and wait patiently, you can find one that hasn't been flogged on too badly. i love the nnbs tahoes, i just don't want to throw in the towel...- branndon_b

sorry for the long hiatus boys. yeah, got it running, have oil pressure, tach (which you have to get a tach module to get it to to work right), fuel level comes from somewhere other than the pcm i think, check engine light works. the only problem that i'm having is currently the temp gauge is...- branndon_b

Been a while since last post, a few new problems
raptor... why not get a low mileage 4L80E? it bolts up, and i believe the computer can be tuned to run it, may have to have a different section of harness, as i'm not sure if the plugs are the same. i'm sure you could find one in a junkyard for probably $500-$700, and they're fairly bulletproof...- branndon_b

sorry it took a couple days falcon, yeah, putting an 80e in mine as well. got a 3000 stall converter with arp bolts in it, and gonna have to get a driveshaft made for my truck. hopefully they can just cut my current shaft and put a new yoke on it, we'll see how that goes. pm me and lemme know...- branndon_b

Recommended upgrades for S/C'd 5.7
if you just take lots of pictures and label your lines and wires and stuff, it's really not that bad, just time consuming like you said. it's more important to take your time with gasket and seal prep so you don't have leaks later. you could probably pull your motor and tranny out without much...- branndon_b

unless you're planning on going into the motor with some more meat, you might wanna consider just getting a long block from a parts house with a warranty, and just play dumb if you tear it up before the warranty is up. you could pull all your s/c stuff off before you try to make a claim. just a...- branndon_b

alright. got my intake on, plugs, plug wires, and my harness all connected to the motor side. still working on the adapters and such for all my oil, tranny, fuel lines. but it's getting closer. can't wait.- branndon_b
