Service Brake Light on After doing rear brakes.

I had the same thing happen. Somebody on this forum offered the advice: make sure the master is full on fluid and mash the brakes aggressively to the floor. To my surprise it worked perfectly, light went off. I was driving on a private road about 25 mph when I did it, but in retrospect I’m...

    Steering not returning to center?

How did they steal it? Did they damage something in the column? Did they run it into a curb?

P0300 code on 2004 GMC Yukon XL Denali - 119,000 miles

As others have said it could be a number of things. Mine ended up being bad intake gaskets, which caused a vacuum leak. Have a look at your fuel trims. Try a can of carb cleaner around the intake mating surface to see if idle increases while running. If it’s bad enough you can find a vacuum...

4l60e boost valve trapped in bore?

Hey guys I got it out. Get ready for a WEIRD ONE. As I was pulling I noticed that below the location where the valve clips into the transmission, the bore continues down toward the pan. The circular bore itself is machined and continues past the clip location until it reaches a squared off...

    Mechanical areas of concern?

Get it up in the air and have a look. If you’re handy you can do things over time. Does the front end feel right? Any obvious leaks? Calipers and lines look good? Given you’re in Florida you probably will escape rust related issues. A maintenance once over is probably warranted (fluids...

4l60e boost valve trapped in bore?

Hey guys, seems this old transmission wants to fight me from trying to save it at every turn, lol. Finally getting around to installing my shift kit. Relatively straight forward process and everything has gone smoothly. One weird issue is that boost valve. I have gotten the spring clip off...

    Corvette servo install debacle

Thanks man. No luck so far that thing is wedged pretty good. You can see in the pic the piston is cocked slightly in the bore. Wondering if I should drop the exhaust and grab a drill

    Corvette servo install debacle

Hey guys, So I managed to screw up my corvette servo install. Guess I should have left well enough alone! As you know there is very little room to work on the servo on these trucks (which is a little surprising). I managed to get the old one out, which was a chore, and install the new one...

Opinions on the previous generation of tahoes or Yukons?

Yeah I like the old body lines too like you said. I actually don’t mind my 03 it has grown on me. I like the 5.3 it’s been solid for me. It’s a well thought out vehicle and working on it has been easy and intuitive.

Opinions on the previous generation of tahoes or Yukons?

Hey guys, I have an 03 and like the truck quite a bit. Wonder what everybody’s opinions on the previous generation with the 350? I do like the older body style. Just curious as to what people see as the major chants and upgrades with the 800.

    P0300

Mine did the exact same thing. Failed intake gasket causing a vacuum leak. While you have it out change the lifter valley gasket and if you’re really picky, the knock sensors. Worked for me (and I didn’t bother with the knock sensors)
