2015 Yukon HID Conversion from The Retrofit Source

Well I have been lucky I guess. The kbcarstuff kit has been good to me. I purchased two of the cheaper kits for two other vehicles and they have given me no issues. Way better than stock. The halogens are very dim.

Yes, the halogens are painfully quiet in the lumen department. My wife complained about it loudly, as she drives our boys around in the dark winters of Alaska. So she needs better lights. However, just like a guy previously posted, installing junk is not an option.

I talked with a close co-worker about a kit he put in his 2012 ford super-duty. He installed a TRS kit with Osram SVS bulbs. No issues at all since 2012, not even maybe. He said the bulbs were around $100 each, if he remembers right. I believe I will follow his recommendation. Maybe high quality bulbs are the missing link.......????

On my kit I got the phillips upgraded bulbs which is what most factory HID kits use. I would say do whatever you feel most comfortable with. Nothing is guaranteed to work 100% so you just have to roll the dice.

I was browsing on TRS website and found the D2S OEM HID kit. Uses Denso ballasts, Philips or Osram bulbs. It's around $350 with the Philips 85122xv C1 4800k bulbs. Why hasn't anyone tried this kit? It comes with 90% OEM HID components, everything but the harness. Forgive me if there's an obvious reason no one has done this, I'm new to HID kits.

I'm getting ready to take the plunge, and will be purchasing the HID kit from XenonDepot for my '15 Yukon. I've used XenonDepot previously on my other cars and have never experienced an issue.

I see that the xenon depot kit is the same kit on kbcarstuff. I really like the idea of Philips 4300k bulbs. I would love to build a kit, but it wouldn't be cheap. I may do it though.

Flynnstone, how long have your previous kits been installed and trouble free?

If anyone goes with kbcarstuff I used code 4thcivic. That will knock off $25 and give you the canbus kit for free which you will need.

I just wonder if the XenonDepot H11 4300K Philips re-based bulbs have the return wire in the correct orientation for our projectors. Here's what I plan on doing, you guys that know what the hell you're doing tell me what you think;

1. TRS Denso Slim AMP Ballasts
2. TRS H11 HD Relay Harness
3. TRS Capacitor Link
4. TRS 9006 Extension Cables
5. XenonDepot 4300K Philips 85122 re-based H11 HID bulbs.

Does that cover everything I need? I think this is as OEM as we can get.

I just ordered the XenonDepot kit a couple days ago, and went with the Extreme HID Kit (H11) and their LED Fogs (both in 5000k temp). I'll post an update once installed.

Are these instant on or do they take a few to warm up? I have an older different set on my 2000 Silverado and they have to warm up to full brightness.

So, after a month of frustration with the Opt7 Bolt HID kit, now gonna try the XenonDepot H11 Extreme kit from KBCarstuff.com...I can say that the customer service at Opt7 was VERY good, and they TRIED to keep me happy, but in the end, their kit was just plain unreliable. When they finally kind of threw their hands up in the air and said that it must be a problem with the new Yukons, I gave up. Went through 4 bulbs and a ballast in a little over one month. Yikes. My wife and I would laugh and play the "headlight lottery" before starting the truck up the past couple of weeks, as we never knew which SIDE would light up (at least we always had ONE side light up, never did have both fail), or if they would both light up...

Hopefully the XD kit with the Phillips bulbs do the trick...we will see.

I ended up going back to halogen fit now. It was just too frustrating especially when it worked great in the beginning.

Ah crap, that's NOT what I wanted to hear... I hope I get lucky. The funny part is, the past three days in a row, the Opt7 kit has worked without a hitch! Go figure...

Just curious if you ordered the CANBUS adapter with the kit? I'm in the middle of installing the extreme kit... Installed the driver side this morning, and going to finish the passenger side this weekend.

I did find out that you have to switch the polarity on the CANBUS adapter for them to work.
