Could I get some feedback about the Bluestar bluetooth module? I have an '07 Tahoe so no bluetooth.

I don't use OnStar at all, so it wouldn't bother me to lose that function.

There's no nav-system in the truck, either. Just the single cd / RSE dvd stock radio until I find the right aftermarket unit.

Why not just go with the 09+ VCIM to get bluetooth phone calls? I hear it's by far the best option as far as clarity for both you and the person you are calling.

I did the exact same thing for my 08 Tahoe, bought the vcim from an 09 and just straight switch. It's a little expensive but well worth it

Nice! How's the sound quality? and can the person hear you well on the other side? Everyone else that's done this mod said it's excellent especially compared to it's aftermarket counterparts. I plan on eventually doing this mod but just so many other mods in line in front of it :/

Where did you find the vcim? That's the part I've been having trouble with.

this was the first mod i did to the car, sound quality is great i recomend it to everyone. And the best thing is its OEM, it uses the existing mic that you have from onstar. You use the voice button on the steeringwheel and it works just like on the 09+ models. I did loose onstar but i dont use it anyways.

I really had to search for this one..The sellers name is 'S1autoparts' on ebay, i paid $250 and i think he had free shipping. Since i bought it more then 3 months ago i cant go to that listing and look at the details, i can only see the heading of the listing "BLUETOOTH ONSTAR VCIM MODULE". I believe the part# was 20783877.

Forgot to add -- if you have any connections at the dealer you can get it from the dealer also. From '09 to '11 should work. I think the 2012 will not work on the previous models. And i believe it has to be a Tahoe vcim and not a camaro or something like that (i read some guy tried and it did not work)

Doesn't matter, it will still work. You'll use the same button

I installed a BlueStar2010 in my wifes 07 Denarli, took 15mins, works really well. She does have the dial/hung up button, also when she uses it with her iPhone it works really well. She seldom takes it out her bag, makes calls etc..

Not done the latest update to it, its installed down near the drivers right leg panel, so i can get at it.

Cost me about $260 on Amazon, mic in the mirror works, volume controls on the mirror work, dial and pic up work, cuts out the music, also comes up on the dash LED display when you crack, which phone is paired.

just my 2 cents worth.

Can't wait to try the iPhone5 siri and turn but turn, see if that works.

Is this the correct style for my '07 Tahoe? Want to make sure I don't pick up a 2012 model because I read those won't fit.

Yes, same as in my wife's 07Denali, The two left "White" T terminals are what your connect into, that is it, for me, I did not take the dash apart, I went in, lower left side, behind it, where the drivers right ankle would be, two panels pop off, very tight, but managed to plug right in.

I had issues using the newer VCIM in my 07 LTZ. It worked perfectly but for some reason at random times during driving, my nav/radio/all audio signals(including turn signals) would shut off... literally no power. I would have to pull over, pull the radio and amp fuse under the hood and re-insert. I removed the new VCIM and have never had a problem since. Like I said... the functionality worked and was great but wasn't worth constantly having to have this side-effect.

I honestly never figured out why it caused this and not sure if it's tied to all 07 models or just something buggy with mine.

I am having the same problem as WingsAA. I have tried two different VCIMs in my 08 Tahoe Hybrid - the first was out of a 2011 Tahoe and the one I have in there now is out of a 2010 Suburban. Both of them work fine, but after driving for a few hours my radio will freeze and when I hold my steering wheel button to engage onstar, it just beeps twice, and will not work.
I haven’t pulled the fuses, but I have to pull over and shut the car off, open the driver’s door to shut off all the electronic signals, wait a few minutes, then start everything back up. Once I do that it works fine for a few more hours BUT this is a HUGE hassle.

I have been thinking about adding a switch to the fuse and running it inside the cabin under the dash. That way when everything freezes, I can just flip that switch (cutting the power), wait a sec or two, then flip it back on….all without having the stop and turn the car off then back on.

Has anyone else had these issues? I’m sure it can’t just be me and Wings. If so, what did you do to fix/correct it? And do you think that adding the switch to the fuse is a workable solution?

Thanks for your help! I look forward to hearing what you guys think.
