Okay so I manually twisted the cam and the air directs to where I want it, but the actuator will not move to that setting when I plug it in. I’ve tried multiple ways restarting the actuator motor and still nothing.pulling fuses, unplugging and re plugging the battery and letting the modes calibrate itself and yet it will not go to the setting I choose for hvac. So please explain which fuses I need to pull exactly or what steps I should do in order to calibrate this actuator correctly. And yes I know it’s the hvac fuses, but which fuses exactly? 2016 Chevy Tahoe

Hello, I was looking to replace my control cams for my 2016 Chevy Tahoe. It’s what connect to the mode door actuator to change the vent setting in the interior of the car. However I cannot find any instruction manuals on how to replace it.

anytime you disconnect and reconnect the battery or fuse it self-calibrates.
if it does not then work as it should then it's a high probability that it is defective.

Thank you for the input. I forgot to mention that I have bought a replacement actuator motor that’s OEM from the delearship and still having the same problem

then I would use a scanner and see what actual versus commanded shows, where you think it should be and where it normally is or goes to may not be where you think it is.

Hello. How is a scanner used to diagnose blend door actuators? I've seen reference to doing this, but what does it entail? A simple odb scanner? Or is it a shop level fancy computer set up?
I am having similar issue cold on driver side, warm on passenger. I did all the normal things, replaced upper passenger actuator, reset using fuses technique. Same issues continue. 2015 Yukon

you need atleast a mid-range bidirectional capable scanner that can command the body modules and provide the real time status of the system
the gm system is GDS2 but many scanners such as a autel will work with it, your looking probably in the $350+ range for a scanner, depending on how savvy of a shopper you are.
a used scanner will work just as well as a new one. consider it a investment that will pay you back over time of not having to take it to a shop and they charge you god knows how much

Run of the mill OBD scanners/readers won't have the capability to manage anything other than generic OBD. You'll need a scanner that has an option to manage GM modules (and usually it'll manage a range of brands).
