Which Left Manifold-to-Downpipe Seal? 2.83" ID x 0.190" or 2.875" ID x 0.168"?

Y'all,

In preparation for lowering the exhaust to do the torque converter and oil pickup o-ring on my '13 5.3, I'm accumulating parts. RockAuto shows the MAHLE/CLEVITE F31618 at 2.83" ID x 0.190" and the VICTOR REINZ 711368100 at 2.875" ID x 0.168". Is there any way to tell which is required beforehand, or is this a case of buy both and end up with one being unused?

Thanks,
Scrappy

One side should have the donut gasket, the other one is a compressible metal ring. Can't remember which side is which.... Just get one of each.

Side note: The side that has the compressible metal ring is easy to pry out of the groove with the corner of a razor blade. At first glance if you've never dealt with it before, it's compressed flat and you'll wonder where the gasket is.... But it will be there in the flange of your downpipe.

Recommend removing your O2 sensors prior to using any sort of an impact. The vibration often damages them.

Yes, the right side has the donut. I specified left because that's where my confusion lies -- there are two different sizes of ring. Guess I'll be getting one donut and one each of the two different rings.

Good idea. I was going to remove them anyhow to minimize interference and banging them on anything during exhaust removal/reinstallation.

If there's 2 different metal rings, there is an option that it has or doesn't have.

Not sure if my 2019 would be the same but these parts are what I got for a trans fluid change, all fit like they should.

On driver's side a conical 'donut' seal that lightly pressed into the exhaust manifold outlet. GM 1503747

passenger's side, it was a crush ring type seal that sat in a receiver groove in the top of the flange on the down pipe. GM 15077362.
