Noticed that I no longer see the speed limit info in my gauge cluster or my HUD. Do I need to have an active OnStar subscription for the info appear(I believe I was on a free trial that may have recently expried)? I tried signing into my Google account and it kept saying that there was a problem communicating with the server. I made sure that my vehicle was connected to my home wireless network.

On my 2025 the 3 month complimentary expired in Feb so now OnStar Basics (free) yet the speed limits show in my HUD & cluster.

Hmm, is this something that GM only offered on MY25 and up?
No clue, just my experience w/ a 2025 Z71 ordered w/ HUD, delivered 11/14/24 & using Basics since Feb when the complimentary (90 day) sub ended.

Yes, you need some level of onstar data service to receive speed sign and traffic info. The onstar people are very evasive in their answers as to what plan gives you what. My suggestion is start with their cheapest plan and see what you get.

My truck's not nearly new enough for such gee-whizzery, but a quick 'features of on star levels' quiz, of Perplexity, brought what looked to me like a pretty thorough explanation.

So in 8 years I'll loose the Speed Limit in the HUD. I'm okay with that. Unless it keeps beeping and telling me its not available...

Would like to know what else stops working after 8 years on my 25 Tahoe HC.

The whole subscription thing is ridiculous..

Relatable but different car. My wife’s 2018 Mercedes will no longer have remote start as of 1/1/26 because the app will no longer support her car. To my knowledge, Mercedes is not offering any alternative.

They never offered a remote start via the FOB, it was strictly app and subscription controlled.

Have you pressed the info setting to change what’s displayed on the HUD?
