So the 2021 Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban's were not equipped with a hard button to activate the 360° camera system. Instead you have to go thru the radio screen with a software icon. This is fine, but if you're in the radio/carplay/nav you have to do multiple steps to get to the icon. In 2022 GM added a hard button to the left the steering wheel in the cluster of buttons with auto start/stop, parking sensors, lane keep assist etc. Luckily someone over on GM-Trucks figured out that the newer switch was a direct plug-n-play into the 2021 models. So I figured out the correct switch to buy and installed it in my 2021 Yukon. Works perfectly!

Here is my video of the installation. Pretty simple swap, basic tools, can be done in about 15 mins.

Adding hard button for camera on 2021
I have a 2021 Yukon xl and was wondering if anyone has tried swapping out the switches to a 2022 for the hard button for the camera. I know it’s a long shot, but any chance it’s doable? asked a dealer and they had no idea.
