Im sure this has been asked before I just am struggling to track it down.

What are all the possible issues I could be having?? I can hit lock on my fob or inside my vehicle and my locks won't budge, but every once in a great while it does.

Tired of locking my Tahoe and my girl opening the passenger and setting my alarm off hahah.

Added a system so now I am even more on edge about this since I have yet to add the after market alarm.

Any tips or past personal experience is appreciated!!

Thanks!

My 2021 locks automatically... maybe try to set this?

A little off topic but my problem is the back hatch window popping open as I get seated to drive. I presume I'm pocket pushing my fob. Real annoying to have to get out and shut it :)

Mine was a combination of actuators and door handles getting ready to fall off from wear. The nail in the coffin was kids working our neighborhood for unlocked cars to pilfer. Punks got about $5h worth of stuff out of the truck one night.

Threw in the towel after that and made an ins claim because they got my extra set of keys and stunk like they had been the cause of the ongoing broken lock issues.

Two factory door handles, three actuator and gobs of diagnostics and labor. Best $2,200. decision not to dive into myself I ever made.

So it's all 4 locks everytime? Even when pressing interior switch you say?

Agree I’d start with the actuators and check the door handles for any play I know the nuts on the doors like to work loose and the handle will separate from the door maybe it is binding up in there if yours is like this?

start with a fresh battery #1
clean and inspect your battery cables and grounds (even if they look ok)
replace relays with new ones, they run around $12 each or so if you shop around online
if that does not resolve it then order some door panel clips to have on hand because nobody has them for our trucks and the old ones break easily.
pull the door panels and lube the guide rods and actuators (as well as you can) with silicone lube
and if that fails then it may be time for new actuators but that's how I would approach it.

Doesn't matter which interior switch you hit either?

I'm guessing it's the LBEC, which I believe is the fuse panel on driver end of dash.
From what I can tell, the door lock relay is integrated into it.

Yeah thats been my main worry, luckily its is still arming the vehicles and at nights im always garaged. But I don't even feel like I can add much more til I get this fixed. Been debating taking it to my go to mechanics on head aches.

Im going to actually go outside while it's slow at my work and check out my handles. See if I can notice a difference between the non problem handles and the ones giving me issues

I appreciate that! I noticed when we tinted the windows I played around with them and thats what I thought way be the issue that I needed to lube them up to actually move around. Have any recommendations on which on to buy? Pry better to go with something that stays long term moving around over and over

Oh yea, insurance sent me to 3 different shops to get it fixed and finally the last shop did me a solid and said ONLY the dealer should be working on the locks.

It took two weeks and another visit when a d/s door handle fell off they were working on. Rental was covered too so that was also covered.

It was a TX truck the first decade so all the door internals were super baked & brittle. If shít was going to disintegrate in the hands of the person working on it, it was going to be a dealer tech with free access to all those fiddly, hard to locate parts knowing the ins was footing the bill.

You don't say the year.
My 2019 had a problem some what the same. 95% fab would not work especially on driver side. or if it did work it was like a 30 second delayed response. They changed all the antennas in the doors . And that helped to where it worked 95%
