ordered two sets of the HID kits today, hopefully i ll get them in a decent amount of time.
(to be honest i just barely realized there are a ton of these little smiles, alot of them are quite entertaining)

What is the ETA after ordering for you guys / I ordered 6k lows and fogs with a harness on Tue.

It took them 6 business days to get my order processed, as they were still catching up from the holidays. The kit was supposed to arrive today, but thanks to a UPS train breakdown, they won't be here until monday.

great I just got email today from ups although I don't think thay have physically been shipped yet but it seems to be moving i the right direction.
Yeah the price is really good and the feedback you guys have given on these made me do it! If they work out on my Tahoe I will probably get some for the wifes ride too.

i installed a 35w 12000k kit today from ddm and i expected this to be super blue but my philips 6000k looked the same as in color and more brighter. Ive seen 8000k more bluer than the 12000k from ddm. btw he bought them for looks.
thats because 12000k lights are higher on the chart and produce less lumens. think of it being like a black light. it might be a 60 watt bulb but it won't illuminate a room the same way a lower k light will.

Color Temperature: 3000K
3000K emits GOLDEN YELLOW color and offers superior *********** power during adverse weather epically in dense fog. The applications of the 3000K kit aim more towards secondary lighting apparatus such as high beam and fog lights. This is the color temperature that will catch all the attention on the road.
Color Temperature: 4300K
The light appears fairly white, and has light yellowish hue when reflected off the road identical to the OEM HID equipped vehicles. It is ideal for customers who does a lot of back road or canyon driving and need the optimal visibility.
Color Temperature: 6000K
6000K emits pure white light with very slight and barely noticeable tint of blue and purple. This color is for customers who is looking for pure performance white while improving the looks of their headlight.

ORACLE 8000K has an approximately 3000lm output, which is about 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and slightly less light output compared to the 6000K. While it has a bit lesser light output, it emits bluer light than the 6000K.

ORACLE 10000K has an approximately 2800lm output, which is more than 2x the light output of the traditional halogen light. 10000K produces a deep blue light output approaching violet and the blue is noticeably deeper than the 8000K.

This color temperature puts out a deep bluish violet light and is deeper colored than the 10000K. It is for customer who is looking for the most extreme and most exotic looking light output.

Higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets- Not True, the Kelvin Scale measures color not brightness. The brightness is actually inversely proportional to the light output. 4500K HID is technically the brightest and the further you increase or decrease from 4500K the lumens (visible light) will slightly decrease.

Jesse, that is a killer pic, wish I had seen that before!
i was thinking of the 55w lows for my '99 Hoe...any chance of damaging the housing, should i stick with 35w instead?
Also, i've read that it's a good idea to change the housing on my year b/c of how the light will reflect with HIDs...what do you guys think?

Its always best to run HID's in a projector housing, unless the reflectors were specifically designed for HID (ie, the escalade, first gen Envoy, Acura RL, etc). I went and bought Denali housings for my truck for this reason. Now, were they designed for HID applications? No, they were designed for 9005 halogen bulbs. However, the projector allows the light to be more directly and evenly distributed (whatever the source), so they actually work pretty well with HID bulbs.
Not all projectors are compatible with HID kits though, so check with the manufacturer before you buy. As for the 55w vs 35w questions, it depends on how much light output you need. Either will work in a regular headlight housing...it's when people try to put a 55w bulb in a smaller fog/driving light housing that they have problems. The 55w generates more heat, and can melt the smaller housings.

yeah i know that but i mean my philips are bluer and brighter it kinda made him think why he went with 12000k with less color and less lumens. all he wanted was a lot of blue. he made the mistake of thinking it would still be brighter than stock because of ''HID''. i talked him into buying 5-600k bulbs for better performance and looks.
What housings did you get?
