I just had the Borla sport cat back installed on my 17’ Denali and I have to say that it is way way too loud. I have owned Borla sport systems on past cars but they did not sound nearly as loud as this one, granted the other cars were not 6.2l. I love the look of it but the sound is too much. I cringe when I am driving it. I can’t even make a phone call unless I am only cruising because it that loud. I called Borla and they are sending me the touring muffler (had to pay) to swap out but it’s going to take 2-3 weeks. I am thinking about I installling the stock exhaust in the meantime.

I think I would appreciate the loudness in my younger years but not this stage in life.

So the one you have now that is too loud, its NOT the same as the GM version correct?

Ok understood. Please post your thoughts once you get it installed, especially since you’re not a fan of super loud exhausts, same as me.

I received the Borla touring exhaust this afternoon and removed the Borla s and installed the new exhaust. It is like night and day. For starters the muffler on the touring exhaust is significantly heavier than the sport, which surprised me as I was expecting the same size and weight muffler as the touring. As far as the sound as I stated is night and day. The touring is not loud at all, very quiet, a little louder than stock but I like it. You can hear it more than stock when you have the pedal down. Overall I am very pleased, although I wish it was a little closer to in between regarding the sound as the sport. I definitely recommend for someone who wants the look and a little better performance but doesn’t want a loud exhaust .

Thanks for the update. How is the sound on the highway? If you’re just cruising can you hear it? Or is the cabin still whisper quiet until you hit the pedal hard?

Following this. Sounds like the GM Performance one might be the best compromise for my needs.

I have the touring..if you still have the sport muffler I’d take it off your hands as it’s too quiet for my taste. There’s virtually no highway drone.
