Update on my paypal claim against TWENTY4S

As you know I had bought rear esky vents from member TWENTY4S for $144.20 on December 22nd and never received them.

I tried reaching the member through email and received no response.
I then registered a complaint through Paypal who in turn tried 3 times to reach the seller. They were given till the 18th to respond and didn't.

So Paypal just emailed me to confirm I wuld receive the full refund and were taking steps to ban the member from using Paypal.

I feel at this point the admin should now BAN this member altogether.

Glad you are getting your $$$ back. There is no room for anyone like this here who willfully tries to burn people and take their hard earned money giving the forum a bad name...

I agree. He's had plenty of time to make things right and hasn't shown any intention of doing so. Bridge is burned if you ask me..

Not only should he be banned (if he hasn't been already), but other forum aliases and his FULL REAL NAME should be posted here, so he doesn't get the opportunity to swindle anyone else. I hate shit like this. These forums are pretty close knit, and people like this really strain that relationship.

I further suggest that nobody should be able to use the classified ads until 6 months of membership here and a minimum of 150 posts.

ETA: By "use the classifieds", I mean in the selling capacity where you are responsible for taking someone's money. If you want to buy, have at it...but selling rights should follow the above mentioned requirements, IMO.

As I said in another thread, you have to assume some level of trust in dealing with people who share a common interest.

I would definitely suggest making your purchases through Paypal so you have some kind of protection. Thank God I did.

The forum is no different than craigs list and ebay, you always should remember "Buyer Beware". If someone as devious as this ***** wants to violate someone, he's going to do it after 50 post or 500. This wasn't an accedent what he did was intentional. The only safe solution I could think of is to set up an escrow account. When you get the part, he gets the cash, or before you buy set it up through paypal before you buy. Thats the bad thing about the internet, the biggest scum bag hiding behind his/her monitor can appear to be the greatest person, till you give him the chance.

Yup and thats the very reason I use Paypal even when buying on CL.

I have been buying and selling for YEARS! on CL, EB and other sites without issue so I guess theres always a first time.

Glad to hear your getting your money back, and I agree with a few others the post minimum should be maybe 100 in 6 months (not including lounge etc).
That would eliminate alot of people like him, I understand it would be kind of like a punishment for the good people on here that are trying to get to 50 to sell their stuff but at least it would be somewhat safer.
