Apparently, mine was intermittantly working fine. Heck, if the truck would start, it would run. But once it sat, man - it was tough to start until finally it went. I couldn;t start it for days. I finally gave in to doing the pump even though I wasn't tptaly convinced it was the pump because how it would sometimes work. But hell, my fuel gauge was shot so I went for it.


Now it is fine. I can;t say for sure you have a pump problem but your symptons sound a lot like mine.

See if you have the block heater option. Mine was taped up inside the driver side front wheel well area. If so, plug it in and let the truck sit for four hours and then try to fire it up.

If it fires easily you may have an engine with compression issues.
