I am looking for good advice to refurbish the cylinderheads.

I will do that first and I'm thinking about what mudsport96 wrote, just to swap the cylinderheads and inspect the cylinders when the heads a removed.

My plan with the cylinder heads is first to clean the valves and the heads especially the intake and exhaust section.

I have seen that the valves all slightly have play, but I think it's okay, or does someone knows a good method to check that? I found something in the net to put a finger on the valve guide and to remove the valve to check if there's a vacuum and the valve is sucked back.

I would try to remove the oil carbon from the piston rings using an appropriate agent. Is there a good way to check the cylinders when installed?

Then use a straightedge to check whether the surface is straight and the heads are not warped.

Then lap the valves to make sure they are tight. Is there any concern because the valves may be hardened? I saw in the net that there can be problems on other engines bcause you remove the layer of the hardening.

Then mount the valves, mount the heads, and check the valve clearance to make sure the pushrods are the correct length.

Then assemble everything with a new cylinder head gasket and new screws.

Do you have any tips on which cylinder head gasket is best to use?
