Got a ceramic tint done on all the windows except the windshield on Friday and gave it a nice wash and wax today

I went with 5% on all the rear windows and decided to go with 20% on the front windows

Cylinder-heads are off, passenger side head-gasket is toast! There were two breaks in the head-gasket near cylinder #2. Someone has been in the head prior to my ownership as they were fel-pro head-bolts that I removed with unknown brand head-gaskets.

Now time to clean up the block, pistons, pull/replace the lifters and put her back together properly.

Cant wait to drive my Yukon again.... Oh and yes, I made my Son jump in and turn a wrench :)

Don't forget to replace the lifter guides or use tie bars on the lifters. Funny to see that block with AFM towers.

i had ceramic done to mine in the front end of this last summer after I got sunburnt with the windows rolled up. I’ve got factory tint, but had 40% done to the limit on the windshield and the same 40% done over the factory front 70%, and then had more ceramic 12% done over the factory 22% I think it is on the sunroof. It was noticeably cooler in the cabin afterwords. I kind of want to have them redo the front eyebrow darker, and have a decal of some sort on the outside.

I got 5% ceramic on all windows and 30% on the front windshield.

Added a 1/8” NPT valve to my catch can. If I drain it every week it will have about 4-6oz of emulsion. I got sick of manually unscrewing the bottom plug. Now I can quarter turn the full port ball valve. Parts cost more than the tank itself but it’s worth it. I had to source the M12x1.5 to 1/8 NPT adapter from eBay.

The darkest I’d be able to go on the windshield would be 70%. Even with 40% over 70% on the driver/passenger windows its almost too dark for me at night. I suppose its something you could get used to but it wouldnt be for me

Man, that seems like ALOT to catch in a weeks time.

My catch can usually catches about an OZ every 2k miles.

I recently installed the revised valve cover, that moves the intake port on the inside of the VC away from the rocker arms, on the drivers side and I am waiting to see if that reduces the amount of oil caught in the can... I am hopeful that it will.

4-6oz a week seems very excessive.

Maybe your can is just more effective at catching the vapors than mine.

Your catch can reminds me of an a A/C accumulator...

I was thinking that was a lot, too. I high mileage POS doesn't catch anything close to that amount. That's pretty wild.

Yeah, I think it would have been $165 for a standard tint but with the black truck and black interior I wanted something to keep the interior a little cooler in the summer. He quoted $280 for ceramic and $230 for carbon but ended up giving me ceramic for the carbon price.

It's definitely tough to see out of the rear window, but the front windows aren't as dark so the side mirrors aren't obstructed, plus I have a backup camera. My bright LED reverse lights definitely help at night.
