Thanks!

Now I feel like I need more chrome on it.

Now I just need to find someone that wants to buy the old grille...
Noooo!!! Let's not get carried away now. That's enough chrome.
Edit: Well a chrome esky rack would look good lol

I still want to get rid of the rust on the bumper, and I plan painting some behind the grille when it gets warmer.

Now I just need a foggy night to update it!
Have you tried chrome polish on the bumper yet? Might surprise you. Won't get rid of the deep holes but will get rid of that staining

Not yet with the cold weather, but I was thinking about trying the aluminum and vinegar method to get rid of of the rust of the passenger side of the bumper.

My guess too . Door speakers run off the deck
Turns out they left it with the head unit feeding into the stock amp (like I had it), and connected the new amp directly to the head unit.
I might have to get amp for the door speakers some time later.

Here is what I'm installing tomorrow:20170410_181532.jpg

I'm going to retrofit this radio tub in my truck, and install the DD trim that I got from a 2005 Tahoe.

Hopefully the heater controls will just snap into the new part... if not, I have a drill :D

No backup camera yet. That will come later.

After many test fits and trimming with my dremel, I installed a Pioneer double-din radio by retrofitting a 2005 Tahoe radio tub and dash trim piece onto my truck.

Other than the HVAC controls not being a perfect fit, I'd say it came out OK, and I still paid less than buying the Metra dash kit.
I might do the kit some time down the road, but this does the job.

Looking at the pictures...if you didn't tell me anything about a wonky fit, I wouldn't have even been trying to pay attention to it. I like it. Nice custom work.

Thanks!

Some time I'm going to have to make a spacer and get some screws so it sits where it should, without using the foam.
I plan on notching the bottom of the trim on the right side to allow access to the power plugs and the ashtray.

If you look at these two pictures side by side, you can see where the new trim comes down lower by about an inch or so.
Why they though they had to do that, I do not have a clue. I guess I could start getting the '03+ trim and console parts to match, and give myself an upgrade.

I installed the new mirrors today, minus hooking up the turn signals and power fold wires.
I wanted to get a quick disconnect of some sort for the four extra wires. Turns out the only inexpensive way of doing that (and not getting a huge plug) is using a four-way plug meant for a trailer.

When I got them installed and was testing them for function, the passenger mirror still wasn't heating up the way it should (it'd only just barely noticeably get warmer in the middle of the mirror).

I checked the voltage at the plug on the door for the heating element and with the truck running, it only showed about 11.5v.
Makes me think that there might be a bad ground some place. If it turns out to be a bad ground, I can always re-ground it closer to the door.

I should receive the power fold switch in the next couple of days, so I'm hoping that can finish the mirror project Thursday.

These new mirrors also seem to tilt farther than the old ones, and I don't have to deal with the broken passenger mirror anymore. Even if I didn't do anything else, it is already an upgrade :D
