Steering wheel chevy bow tie?

Is there anyway to either swap out the chevy emblem on the steering wheel or have it painted. Not really a fan of the gold bow tie. Was thinking maybe gloss black or possibly chrome. Any one ever do this before?

you can get a vinyl sticker to put over it

i donno if they have changed, but on my 07 i used my fingernail to scrape the gold off with almost no effort, left just the silver behind it
