30k miles seems permanent enough for me but to each their own I guess. I am usually the same way GM radiator seal tabs have never done me wrong.
Only use the GM ones. Remember GM puts them in all their cooling systems from the factory. Or at least they used to. Can't be 100% sure they still do.

Hope the OP finds the problem. I am tracking down something similar in our '01 Tahoe.

It is important to find and fix the leak. Main thing I was worried about was the "leaking cylinder head" issue, but found out we don't have the "bad heads" so that worry is less.

Since it's 100+ degrees (heat index) right now and I don't have an AConditioned work area, I am thinking about putting my full repair off until Fall.

Was this the coolant tablets that were discussed earlier?

Might be a "temporary" fix until cooler weather.

Just pressure test the cooling system with a pressure tester. Pump it up to 15 psi. Look to see if it holds the pressure or if it slowly drops off. If it drops off, pump it back up and look for leaks. First thing I do is drop to the floor and look for a dripping coolant if it's not obvios from above.

On the pressure test, where is the best place to get the test equipment?

(not trying to jack the thread, but it might be helpful for the OP to know)

EDIT: WAIT Nevermind...I missed this post earlier. :emotions122:
