Power running boards stopped working

My wife took my 2008 Yukon Denali to pick up our kids and next thing I knew she was calling saying my battery was dead. She got a jump from someone and got it home. The running boards worked just fine before she left and have not worked since she brought it home. I did have the battery tested and they found it was bad so it now has a new one. Any ideas why they just stopped working?

Oh yah, I already replaced the fuses even though they still looked good.

sounds like the motors got fried from a surge

Make sure the button on the center stack that turns them off wasn’t accidentally pushed.
