Power Folding Mirrors

The passenger side folding mirror no longer folds although I can hear the motor buzzing. When you press on the entire mirror assembly it has some slack in it. Do I have the replace the whole mirror assembly or just the actuator?. It seems as if the gears for the folding part are stripped

You can take it apart, and probably find a broken plastic gear. There was someone who was looking into making a replacement gear, but i havent heard of it for some time.

Yeah they know that without them you need new mirrors so they can rip you off. They used to be less and made out of strengthened plastic but those must have started to fail so now they're brass and more $$$$.

I bought a set of gears and a motor, Just need time to get it fixed. Way cheaper than a new mirror and then having to deal with it again.
