When you say "unplugging it", are you literally just unplugging the connector to the o2 sensor? Wouldn't that throw the readings off and cause the CEL to come on?

Yes, just unplugged it for now while I have a new one being shipped. The CEL is on, but it was almost to the point of being un-drivable due to running so rich and misfiring. The plug is super easy to get to, right on the passenger side frame rail.
