1. Can I have both an ipod and my iphone plugged into the usb ports and toggle between them using the media button?

2. When using rear dvd with headphones, is it easier for me to start it using the remote so front seat can stay with radio, nav, etc?

#2 yes. Worked for my son and we all were happy!

Yes you can use an iPod and iPhone and toggle between both. I'm currently doing this in my 2015 Tahoe LT.
