Is there any information about the fix to this problem? Mine just went out. Just under 80,000 miles on my 2007. Purchased Certified Used just over 2 years ago.

I had this issue about a year ago when I was at 120k miles. I found a local guy that worked on clusters. He said there is a resistor or something that goes bad and needs to be replaced.

He took it out and fixed it in about 30mins. Cost me about $140 or so. I was quoted $500 by a few shops in the area and they all had seen the issue before.

Look for someone in your area that does color LED switches for clusters or general cluster work. Chances are they know about this DIC blackout issue for the 07 and up Tahoe, and can help.

Just wanted to update to say that I fixed mine. Ended up replacing the MOSFET (Q16). The solder wasn't the problem on my cluster.

Part was less than $1.

RickTahoe,

I understand that you are seeking cost assistance for a vehicle concern. Each case is unique and we do look at case individually on a case by case bases. I cannot guarantee any cost assistance but I would be happy to look into this concern for you. Please private message me referencing this thread if I can be of any assistance.

How is every case different when the same problem occurs on the same model? It's a GM mfg problem, not a unique problem! Why don't you just tell us how to fix it?

This has happened on my truck to. It works when it wants to.

How did you remove the old one?
