Ok I just got my 2wd 4 door 97 tahoe running with my new 383. Now to the suspension I would like to lower it a little and maybe add 20's but I want a stock type ride. I do not want to be beating myself up driving it around and we have alot of speed bumps around here. Along with that I plan to tow a flatbed trailer part of the time. I might add some air bags for that.

So what is the best for lowering and maintaining ride quality and what size tires can I fit with something like a 2/2?

Should I stick with 18" wheels? That extra sidewall will also improve the ride quality.

For maintaning a stock ride, Spindle/shackle would be your best bet.
That would get you were you want to be, 2/2.

You could get 20s with a decent size sidewall for the extra comfort and driveability.

I'm jealous of your 383. Hows it runnin?
