Hello everyone. I have been searching for a 2 door Tahoe since I was old enough to know what one was and over the weekend I bought what I believed to be a good one with 68,000 miles. However $2400 and a 5 hour round trip later I discovered a hole in the frame almost the size of my forearm that is both on the inside and outside. I work in a body shop and I should be able to fix it but the question now is do I keep it or get rid of it? Any help with this decision would be appreciated. Thanks.

Considering how clean it looks otherwise, and considering the fact that you say you can do it yourself, I'd just go ahead and do that. Two doors are getting harder to find all the time.

PS, My friend loves his 95 pickup so much he just had a entire rear section of frame welded in. I myself may need a rear section from the bumper up about to where the tire would hang. And I will have it done too, cause the truck doesn't let me down any other way.

Find a new frame from the west coast. once you have cancer that bad it only keeps spreading, even if you cut and replace.

I would come down to the south and get a good frame. There's a couple good 2drs here. Beats a Patched up rotted out frame..

That's what I was thinking would have to happen. How much would a frame probably cost? I've looked around but I can't find a good reference point.

No idea but labor to get everything off is gonna be the expensive part. Can give you a number to a local yard that has one and sells at good prices but kinda doubt you'd wanna come down to tx..

if the body and interior are clean and what you want you could always find the opposite, one with a clean frame and junk body and interior for cheap and then put the 2 good parts together.

Dude thats unsafe. Your asking for an accident. Id either try and find a frame or part it out.
