i cant even see let alone cut an O ring in there

you have to use the flathead screw driver and press the cover it. it should move inwards about 1/4 inch. press it in as far as u can get it and use a smaller flathead screwdriver put in in the notches and pry upwards.

thats the problem, the cover doesnt move, im not sure were your from but here in NY were half the year is covered in rock salt things dont like to move after 15 years haha

oh lol. im in southern california soooooo i couldnt possibly relate. but if its not moving inwards then you my friend have a problem. i just did the same thing on my friends camaro. easy as pie. i would try some wd 40 or something to get that thing to move.
