Whenever my 2004 5.3 Yukon is running I can smell coolant from outside of the vehicle. I have changed my water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, coolant temp sensor and my coolant tank. there is no sign of a leak (no wet spots) anywhere. I have even smelled my exhaust pipe but I keep passing out after a few minutes, lol. My next thing to change is going to be the intake manifold because I read that they crack. The smell is not coming from the inside and my carpet is not wet so I don't believe its the heater core. Anybody have any ideas?

Not sure if it's the same problem but I had a 2004 silverado with 4.8 and it has 706 casting number heads on it I would loose coolant with no evidence of a leak changed water pump no better turns out there is a tsb for the 706 heads with a bad casting where it cracks around one of the head bolts and leaks coolant into the motor change your oil and smell it. I going to see if I can find tsb #

I should have updated this thread, thank you for reply BTW.
I found the culprit, it was a heater connector on the firewall, its the black one in the picture. It was leaking on the exhaust manifold and burning off. Glad I found it because I was about to replace the intake and intake manifold gasket.
