So im looking for some engine mods for my 2005 5.3 yukon. What is the average cost for a camshaft install and tune? I been looking on jegs and they have some, but i realy have no ideal what the specs mean? and have no ideal whats good for my wants. Im looking for more HP and better throttle response.
So far i have a Spectra CAI and that took off a second from my 0-60 time =D.

Go to performancetrucks.net and search around on there. There is endless knowledge on cams, converters and tunes. What kind of power do u want? All around, up top, mid to high? Then u need to choose your converter, how big u wanna go? Is it a dd? Most choose Blackbear for tunes but if somebody lOcal is good with em I'd do it locally. After all that you will need do upgrade the tranny. All these go together you just need to do alot more reading and research to find out whats gonna suit your needs

Comp 212/218, low lift would be a good one, get new Comp 918 springs, then need a retune.

I gained around 80hp with that on mine... It cost me $3100

If you're going to spend 3k on a cam you might as well supercharge, do the 4l80e, and do a booster cam for way less

http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gm-engine-exhaust-performance-21/***cam-guide***-387763/

what????? your trying to say a supercharger and a pointless transmission swap costs less than 3000? then a cam also? are you alright?

cam choices are basically unlimited for these motors. most people will preach you need the stall to really get the power out of a cam which i agree with. if your truck is a DD and your concerned about gas millage i wouldnt go above a 2800 stall. and id stay under 600 lift on the cam for a DD
