I think that's the brake booster that does that. A while back I sprayed silicone on the rod, and on the bolt that holds the brake on. Noise went away, but was never sure if it was a good idea to spray the rod/booster.

Rattle is gone. I'll update after I hit some big bumps tomorrow if there is rattle, but just moving the pedal side to side w my hand, it feels firmer and quiet, whereas I could easily replicate the rattle before.

Thanks guys. Ride is so much quieter now. Next project is dropping each door panel and tightening loose bolts. Ride should be as quiet as new after that.

even tho my trucks in ruins right now with a wiring mess and the dash out. I replaced my bushing on my brake pedal as well. Old one was smoked no ends like the new one. I was able to use ratchets with 18 mm socket on the drivers outer side, and a 18mm swivel and 2 inch extension and ratchet to remove. Bolt was on there tight working space. Clip and wiring was not a hassle.

Mine doesn't make noise.. but I want to swap out the actual pedal for something else. Gonna assume that's easy.. but great writeup anyway just incase it does start I know what to do! :D
