I know this has been asked many many times and there is many many treads about it but i really want everyones updated opinions. My wife drives a 09 Denali and I am going to lower it 2/3 with spindles and rear springs. I will be running KMC Slides in black. I know if I was driving it I would go with 24s without a question but she will be pissed if the ride and drive is horrible. Also she uses the dreaded car wash beside her work weekly so i am afraid with the 24s the sidewall will be to small and may get some scuffs on the wheels. No way am I telling her not to get it washed because I don't have time and they actually do a good job. So with this said what should i do. I am thinking 22s but i love the look of 24s but in black i don't think it will be to much difference.

Well I've said this many times before ... the ride quality, drain on brakes/power steering, change drastically from 22s to 24s, this is accentuated by the drop. So much so that I took mine off the 24s and drop and now rolling stock height on 22s. Plus be mindful that 295 and wider tires will result in a slight rub up front at full lock.

Although I didn't try it, my understanding is that dropping on 24s requires the 'free travel mod' to improve the ride quality. This of course won't resolve your concerns about the low sidewall.

22s do resolve a lot of your concerns, but 24s are 24s. :)

I had 24's on my Denali with a 2/3 drop and had some slight rubbing. I did some heating and slight cutting to the plastic wheel lining and it took care of it. As for the car wash, wife took it a couple of times and didn't have any issues. I have my new Hoe and I am lowering it and have new 24's that should be here this week. Hope that helps!!

I'm running 24s with a Belltech 3/4 drop. I have some rubbing but nothing that bothers me too much. I've also massaged the fender liners a bit; before that there was significantly more rubbing...

I had 24's on mine wth a basically 3/3 drop before my spindles were put on and hardly had any rubbing in the front just at full lock but in the back had to do some cutting of the liner. Also I have been running 305 tires with both setups so that is the main reason. I am back to a 2/3 with 26's and it rubs a lot more at full lock.

I had 2/3 with 26"s and ran a 295/30/26 with minimal rubbing. So I would think 24"s with a 295 would be fine. As far as the car wash check and see if they have the plastic on the side of the rail. If they do there are no worries even with 24"s you should have enough sidewall.

It rubs plastic so who cares?? I didn't notice the ride being much harsher after going from 22's to 24's but I am not running a lowering kit.
