What’s up guys, I’m looking to re-gear my 2019 Suburban I have the 5.3/6L80 non tow package. I’ve checked other threads but have seen just the older generations.

I run a 275/70-R18 tire. Looking at 3.73 or 4.10 (preferred) I am BB tuned so she’s got some power but the factory 3.23 is horrendous.
Anyone out here run these ratios themselves?
And if so how do you like it?
Is there a carrier break?
I’m looking a replacing the GOVbomb and seeing if I can add a LS in the front.
This will be a DIY project as I’ve done other older axles before 14ff,14sf, Dana axles, transfer cases etc.

Truck has 106k so while I’m in there it’ll be an upgrade and a full rebuild for front and rear.

In theory, I 'get' why GM has habitually under-geared every V8 vehicle since 1975.
The only vehicles that are not under-geared are the ones that came with 10L80s.
By which I mean: most vehicles that came with 10L80s also came with 3.27.
If you swap in 3.42 or 3.73 or 4.10, they don't accelerate that much quicker, and they don't get much better MpG, either in stop'n'go, or highway.

So far as vehicles with 6L80s are concerned:
What are you trying to gain with 4.10, that you won't gain or gain enough of with 3.73?
Also, what's your transfer case gear ratio?

I say that, thinking ... I KNOW for sure that I want 4.10 front and rear axles.
Unfortunately that may mean I should reduce my transfer case's gear ratio to 2.56, if such a thing is still doable.

My point is, maybe 4.10 won't be overdoing it in your case, especially if it's possible to also change your transfer case's ratio downward.
