What oil and plugs in your Hoe?
there was a sale at my local o'reilly. they just started carrying their full syn o'reilly blend, it is made by shell. I got 5qts and a mobil 1 filter for $17.99!!! with the extra qt of oil and some shop towels, the total was only $27 for a full syn oil change and killa filta . . . beat that midas!- ypsetihw

assuming that the heater/furnace pipe holds, it will only add to it. I would do the swiss cheese AND the k&n drop in. after that, the furnace pipe will only help more. I'm very interested to see if that furnace pipe holds up or if it gets crushed/deformed, or something else. in theory... -

title says it all - have to do an oil change on our 01 Tahoe . . . and I'm guessing it needs plugs because my GF has no idea when they were done. several questions: what oil filters due you use? are there oversized filters approved? anyone have a stock part number for a k&n oil filter...- ypsetihw

I've seen short ram setups available on ebay that have a silicon elbow from the TB, to a big long straight piece of aluminum pipe, to the MAF, and then a cone filter with a bracket to hold it in place. these things go for around $90 shipped, but I bet you could build one with PVC - biggest... -

valid question - water in your engine could potentially cause it to stall or even hydrolock, but you'd have to suck up TONS of it all at once, basically by submerging the intake in a bucket at high RPMs. think about it - when you use seafoam, you suck liquid into the engine. when you add... -

*this is just my opinion not science* once you open up the stock airbox, it has plenty of flow to keep up with a stock tune. if you have a custom tune like blackbear or something, chances are you will see a bigger gain from a more wide-open intake, but it is equal chance that you already... -

cleaning the MAF is super easy . . . just take the band clamps off and unhook the harness. just look at it, usually if you touch the screen you'll see a big smudge of crap come off on your finger . . . that's when you know its time to clean it. go get yourself some CRC MAF cleaner for like $7... -

vw forum is down so . . . changed the oil in my jetta 1.8t with mobil 1 0w-40 and a large capacity k&n filter. the old one was on there so hard I stripped two filter wrenches before hammering a screwdriver through it and using a 3' breaker bar to get it loose . . . last time I go to my shop...- ypsetihw

hmm if you already have good gas in there, then you could be losing one of your knock sensors. I just replaced one on my jetta for the same code. they did all this other work and the code kept coming back. then they replaced the knock sensor and all was well.- ypsetihw

How often to change Synthetic Oil.
in my 1.8t 4 cyl jetta I use mobil 1 0w-40 and get near 10k to the oil change . . . it all depends on how much you wanna invest. go to midas and get an oil change for $20, and you prolly need another change as soon as you pull outta the parking lot. on the other hand, put some good mobil 1...- ypsetihw
