Radiator cap cold after driving
Ok, after investigating further I saw a small amount of coolant around thermostat housing. So changed thermostat, with 195deg stat. Took truck for drive, engine runs cooler now with no fluctuations. Radiator cap is still cold when done driving, is that normal? Hose from stat to radiator is hot...- mikesid

Radiator cap cold after driving
Ok, I fixed the heater hose quick connect on my tbi. I thought this would solve my overheating problem. I noticed at a stop my engine was getting warmer and then when I would drive it would cool down.. Never got really hot like when I had the bad quick connect but I've been watching engine since...- mikesid

Instrument Cluster lights are out
I think maybe you are right about it being a bad wire. Is there a way to test it properly? If the a/c controller and ip cluster is out could it be that the break is in front of the illumination wire splice, if the a/c controller and ip cluster share a common splice. -

The only thing that doesn't work is the blower motor when the control is turned to Hi. The recirc and a/c push buttons stay lit. -

I didn't see any wires that looked frayed...I also can add that the hvac controller doesn't operate when turned all the way on high...it just shuts off...this has been like this for a while...can a bad controller cause the dash lights malfunction? I added pics of the lights that do come on.. -

No, they can't be because they come on intermittently...they started coming back on when I removed the dash bezel....they would flicker a little then stay on or just not come on at all...I just don't know what is happening to make them come on and off again -

No other power failure except ip cluster and hvac control light...although the warning check lights still come on ip cluster when going through startup, the light which indicates the brights on the I/p comes on, the gear shifter light comes on, and the lights on hvac control which indicate a/c... -

I pulled the ip cluster and it was clean.. I pulled the CD player and couldn't cause the light to flicker at all...I pulled the ac control unit too and still nothing...this is driving me insane..I messed with the wires to see if I could get it to do anything but no dice...almost seems like a... -

Thx comet, that's what I thought but wasn't sure...I'm still green with some of the technical words...when I pull the cluster should I hit it with some keyboard duster or compressed air to clean connection? Is there something specific I should be looking for? -

I'm not sure exactly what the ip cluster is? Can you be more specific, I'm kind of a noob..I took of the light switch with dimmer and plugged it back in..can you also instruct the proper way to inspect and clean the ip cluster? Thanks a million... -

Well, i thought the repair looked more than what i wanted to do...so i had a mobile mechanic come out..i told him the situation on the phone and even sent him a pic...told him it would probably need an ezout or extractor as it would most likely break...he came out and try to get it out and it...- mikesid

Ahh, I get it now, yeah I went looking for the cepek and ran into the road block of it being discontinued...can the RCX be cranked past the 6" mark with out putting a lot of extra stress on it? Lol...then how can they sell it as a 6" lift? Isn't that a marketing gimmick? Seems kinda like trickery to me...maybe I just don't know much about lifts and I'm not trying to say anything bad about the company...but...hmm..anyone want to buy a 2" lift... Bowtie can u help me understand your lift kit difference? With the cepek lift did u crank the t bars 1.5" to attain the 8"? If I install an RCX lift 6" can I crank bars 2" and get same look?- mikesid

Well, I'm supposed to get my lift put on this week and noticed this wonderful coolant leak...it seems the quick connect going to the tbi has corroded and needs to be replaced...I watched a video on replacing it but still am apprehensive at attempting it...can anyone give any further guidance on...- mikesid

While I'm redoing my dash I figure I should address this long standing issue. I had all the lights on my instrument cluster/panel go out a while back....all the gauges still work and I checked the fuse and it's not blown...I did replace the fuse but nothing helped....I don't think every light... -

Will dash from 96 fit in my 95 Tahoe?
Thanks for the suggestion...the 97 dashes look nicer....I'm not to keen on the funky cup holders on passenger that can't even hold a cup on my 95...if I find a 97 dash and use it is there any precautions I should take when pulling the dash so airbag doesn't go off....I think I would rather just... -

Ok, all the pics I could find on a 96 dash looked the same as mine...should I remove mine first and just take measurements of the equipment the protrudes the most? Then go to junk yard and do same? Seems simple enough....but I always get myself in to something..... :confused: -
