    Hollow rattle from front end?

As far as I know, all Denalis have autoride. I think a "service suspension" message came up 2-3 times shortly before replacing the shocks.

    Which shocks should I get????

I took my 07 to the dealer for what I hoped was a bad wheel bearing. Turned out the shock was bad. With the part number, I shopped around and found that Rock Auto.com has ACDELCO for about 60% of the dealer's price. Below is the part number. I paid about $265 + $12 in shipping. ACDELCO...

    Hollow rattle from front end?

Do you have autoride? I had a shock go bad on our Denali. It rattled like a ball in a can. Replaced the shocks, problem gone and it rides better. Kind of pisses me off that GM sells a shock for $250-500, depending where you buy, that only lasts 65k miles.

Escalade/Denali Hitch Cover Clips? Worth a Group Buy?

I have had my hitch cover come loose at the top 2-3 times. It has never fallen completely off. We would get home from a road trip and the cover would be hanging by the bottom clips, parallel to the ground. I put a piece of foam that is used under a pickup truck cap or topper across the top of...

07 Denali Suspension - What do I have, is it working?

The struts are oil filled. I replaced both on our Denali and used an impact to get the nut off the top of the strut. You should not do that if you need to reuse the strut. It will unscrew the rod from the strut body and let the oil out. The oil has a dark color (after 65k mi) and would be...

    New Tires - Stock Wheels

I think you can. I guy I work with has an 07 Tahoe that has 285/70/17 with no issues. The 285/65/18 is a slightly smaller tire than he is using.

    Parts

Check Rock Auto. They carry AC Delco parts. They may not have the OEM version of everything, but they have plenty of options. Rock Auto also ships same day or next day. I have bought 2 things from GMpartsdirect.com and they have OEM stuff at great prices, but their shipping is SLOOOOOOOOW...

Squeaky noise coming from the outside of 2007 Escalade... what could it be?

Based on the part numbers matching the fronts from Auto Zone, Advance, etc. I'm 99% sure they are for the front. The rear bearings are listed under Wheel Bearing on Rock Auto and sell for less than $35.

Squeaky noise coming from the outside of 2007 Escalade... what could it be?

Felix - I just went to Rock Auto, selected a 2007 Cadillac Escalade > Brake/Wheel Hub > Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly and I see 5 AWD and 5 RWD choices, including Timken for $117 for AWD. I see wheel hubs also listed under "Hub" and they do only show AC Delco there. I have no idea why.

Squeaky noise coming from the outside of 2007 Escalade... what could it be?

That is Rock Auto's regular price. If you don't need the part today to fix a major problem, you can save a lot of money through Rock Auto. Returns are easy too...don't ask, it was my fault.

Squeaky noise coming from the outside of 2007 Escalade... what could it be?

Wow. Rock Auto has that Timken part number for $116.79 plus shipping. To my door in NC is $125. Even if it comes from the West coast, I could have it in 5 days. If it's not an emergency, I can wait several days to save $65-75. It's a special order part at the Auto Zone closest to me.

Squeaky noise coming from the outside of 2007 Escalade... what could it be?

Does anybody know the Timken part number? Rock Auto has Timken, Moog and SKF for $117-215 depending on application. I have bought several things recently from Rock Auto and found their prices to be the best even after shipping charges and they ship quickly. The price to my door on 2...

    Replacing Autoride Shocks

All in all, it wasn't too bad. Somewhere I read not to use an impact wrench on the nut on top of the shock. That is absolutely true if you are going to use the shock again, as in a spring swap. The impact will unscrew the shock rod from some internal threads in the shock and allow the shock...

    Replacing Autoride Shocks

I replaced both shocks last night. Overall, it was pretty easy other than a couple rust/corrosion issues. Each side took about 2 hours. You need a strut spring compressor and metric wrenches. If you take the tie rod loose from the spindle, the whole assembly can be removed in one piece. I...

    Replacing Autoride Shocks

I have the shocks in hand and you are correct in that the shock and lower spring perch are one unit. The spring and upper perch are separate from the shock. It looks to be assembled like a strut. There are 3 bolts on the top and 2 on the bottom to remove it as a unit. I'll try that...

    Replacing Autoride Shocks

Does anyone have experience with replacing these shocks? Do I need to remove the whole assembly, shock, seat and spring as one and then compress the spring on the bench and replace the shock or can I do it on the car?

$650 for new fluids at 36k miles?

I changed the fluids in the front diff, transmission, transfer case, rear diff, power steering and coolant this past weekend. I had about $110 in everything. Including the 2 hours I spent struggling with the malfunctioning secondary latch on the spare tire, I could pay myself $50-60 per hour...

    2008 Tahoe LTZ...do I have a lemon...???

Our 07 Denali is at 63k and it seems like it has needed a lot of maintenance in the last few thousand miles. We bought it with 40k and I don't think much was done by the original owner. It's a hassle and anything at the dealer is going to be expensive. I think they secretly have a $500 minimum.

corvette servo for a 2008 tahoe ltz

Get a TransGo 4L60E HD-2 shift reprogramming kit along with the Corvette servo. I just put both in my '03 Silverado and absolutely love it. My truck is bone stock and those 2 took all the slop out of the tranny. It is still smooth under a light foot. When you get in it, it shifts quick and...
