Clunk/knock when braking and hitting the gas

So this just started... greased the slip yoke with no luck... haven't looked further yet. Any of you dealt with this? What were the fixes?

Knock seems to be just in the rear end...

You check the u-joint? Anything leaking in the front of the rearend? Pinion bearings could be going, have you checked the fluid?

I'd check the balljoints and front bushings as well. Those can make the same noise during loading and unloading like you described.

So, checked the u joints. Weren't bad but went ahead and changed them. Still didn't fix it. On to the next thing.

check your sway bar link ends on both front and rear sway bars.... they like to snap off

Things That Go Clunk
Problem: Excessive clunking from the axle (not driveline) when on and off the gas.

Cause: Many causes, including worn differential carrier bearings or pinion bearings, broken or worn differential (spider) gears, a loose pinion nut, improperly adjusted backlash, or an automatic locker installed in the axle.

Fix: The best course of action here is to inspect your axle starting with the item easiest to access. Use the process of elimination.

Tooth Fairy
Problem: Clunking, banging, and jerking of vehicle as you pull forward slowly.
