Is there any way to stop the "hey you left your key in" chime...
I hate that damn thing.
I leave my key in mine 90% of the time, I live where you can still do that, and I hate that loud ding everytime I open my door.

I am thinking of putting a lock it/unlock it button under my mirror, so I can leave the key in the ignition all the time, I wish it had a code on the door so I could use that... My town car I leave the keys in it all the time and simply lock the door, no misplaced keys, no lost remote, no heavy keychain/remote in my pocket....

So, how can I silence the ding, ding, ding, ding, ding?

What I've done on a few vehicles is to wire I'm a toggle switch that interrupts the signal to the door switch. That way it will think the door is closed even when it's open.

Is removing the key from the ignition and dropping it in your center console or cup holder too much trouble?

What about tricking the door switches to make it think the doors are always closed

I looked, but they are not obvious, don't know where the actual switch is, but it looks like it must be inside the door.... panel will have to come off...

Well, I did figure out a 'work around' for now... if you pull the key out just slightly, it doesn't chime....

The door ajar switch is within the drivers door latch assembly. If you disable that switch you will begin to have unwanted issues. Such as the radio stayin on when you turn the ignition off and open the door. Perimeter lighting will be disabled. The interior lights will no longer come on or dim when you open and close the door, your alarm if equipped (apparently you won't care about this one)will be inactive for the drivers door etc.
maybe you're cool with that idk but just some food for thought.
