Just stumbled onto this thread and wow what a blessing that they were able to fix the truck. I may or may not have accidentally totaled my 96 2 door hoe and after buying it back from the insurance, we learned that the front 6 or so inches of the frame was tweaked. Got it fixed and the shop even put the new front clip on, no problem! Now a ratty old obs 2 door is way different from a super-clean 07 Burb, but still haha.

So quick update. Talked to the body shop today. Zero frame damage whatsoever and all the damage is cosmetic which is incredible. Damage cost is high but well below the threshold of being declared a total loss so repairs will be made and will drive just like it did before the wreck since no damage was done to the structure that would need repaired. So now it's just a waiting game to get all the funds from the insurance companies and they are still duking it out to decide who's at fault. We know the other dude was but just like any investigation they have to go through their hoops to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. I'm getting a rental tomorrow. Probably will be a cracker jack box but whatevs.

Long story short, she'll be fixed and we will just rock it from here. In the end it makes the most financial sense and after a wreck like that on the carfax report it won't be worth selling and replacing anyway so onward we go. Still got several more weeks left of this but we fight one day at a time lol
Good stuff, man. Glad to hear it.

You need to check the headlights when you get it back. I have a feeling the drivers side is brand new and the passenger side could have some hazing going on so it won't look right...

Yeah it's already on the list of things to check. If it doesn't look right due to one being newer than the other I'll buy a new one. Good news is I just bought new headlight assemblies just a couple years back so I'm hoping that the passenger side won't look too bad compared to driver side. We will see once it's out in the sunlight:)

I was definitely pissed when I heard what the tow truck driver did.

Mostly what's left is detailing work and the air bag sensor is still throwing a code.

Lol isn't that code factory? I thought there was an airbag recall. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Must be wet sanding any orange peel! Seems like this was over as soon as it happened lol
