Put these guys in the recommended box and all I can say is WOW. Built the box out of 3/4" cabinet grade birch. I think 4 of these will be waaaaaay too much. I'm only pushing 800rms to these 2 and they absolutely slam. They literally hit soo hard I cannot see straight driving with them turned all...
02 Yukon
Bone stock now with the exception of a cold air intake.
When the engine dies or my pocketbook gets fat enough. (Whichever comes first) I'm doing a 6.0 swap.
For now tho. I would like to start upgrading my 4.8 so I already have most of what I want for when I do the swap.
Next week or...
I bit the bullet on a pair of skar audio vvx 12's.
Gonna run them for a while then possibly add 2 more to the setup once I get my electrical where it needs to be to support 3k
Started out with a single kicker cvr 15 powered at 500 rms from a pioneer 8601 amp in a slot ported ground shaker box.
It wasn't enough.
Moved up to a dc lvl 3 15 in a slot ported box tuned around 32 Hz on a pioneer 9601 @ 1200rms
It was louder, but still... Not enough...
Just to see what it...
I solved the problem. Adjusted the gains with my headunit at nearly full volume.
My sub is dropping me down to 12.1v though. Thinking I need at least the 140amp alt and another battery.
If I did the 140amp alternator and an xsd1400 14v battery do you think this would support 2500-3000 watts rms?
Just looking for a little extra git up n go when needed....
How would my 12, nearly 13 year old 4.8 with close to 150k hold up to a 75 shot of dry nos??
Yea yea, I need to do a motor swap... It's in the works but not for another year or so...
Ok, amp isn't going into cutting power. Rear 3ways aren't affected. It's just the tweets on the front components cutting out.
Voltage is fine 13.9 avg
Droops to 12.4-12.8 when bass notes hit.
What impedence would I be at if I hooked both front door speakers to one channel, rear doors to one channel so I could run my rear tweets on one of the other channels.
They are 4ohm componets and 4 OHM 3ways.
I have one speaker per channel.
One rca in to amp from radio (front)
Front componets are 4ohms
Rear 3ways are 4ohms
I've done some messing a around with it and have replicated the problem without the sub on.
Seems I'm losing all highs, mids are still there but distorted. Everything sounds...
